STEP 2
You pay for the local search fees and submit your application for a mortgage if you require one. We receive the estate agents notification of sale and request draft contract papers.
STEP 3
On receipt of the contract papers, we arrange for local searches and check the contract papers.
STEP 4
We receive and check the local searches. The house is valued on behalf of your mortgage lender. We would advise that you obtain a home buyers survey rather than rely on the valuation undertaken by the mortgage lender.
STEP 5
We receive your mortgage offer and report to you.
STEP 6
You sign the contract papers ready for exchange. Completion dates are discussed. We will require your deposit ready for exchange of contracts.
STEP 7
A completion date is agreed and contracts are exchanged. You are legally bound to but the house on completion. Your buildings and life insurance are put into force. We request the mortgage funds and any balance due from you.
STEP 8
You book the removal men (or van if you are moving yourself).
STEP 9
We send you a statement of account and you send us any balance to complete at least four days before.
STEP 10
Completion. You move into your new home.
STEP 11
We register you as the new owner of the house with the Land Registry.

ON A PARTICULAR DAY UNLESS CONTRACTS HAVE BEEN EXCHANGED
